Better Workplaces

Working to make our employees' working lives easier based on suggestions from employees

TEMS actively works to make our employees' working lives easier. A standout example is the way we build new branch buildings and service center offices and maintain our existing buildings.

We are improving the way we work in a variety of ways, from free-address offices and areas to relax to snow-melting systems at sites in areas with heavy snow. These initiatives are carried out based on issues raised by employees and are tailored to each site's situation.

We are also actively working to make our premises zero-energy buildings (ZEBs), to increase our employees' environmental awareness and contribute to environmental conservation.

Aomori and Seikan Service Centers, Morioka Branch (currently Morioka Signal and Communication Equipment Service Center / Aomori Power Service Center)
1-22-2 Ishie, Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture

These buildings have been recognized as ZEB Ready. They also have a five-star rating, the highest rating, under the Building-Housing Energy-efficiency Labeling System (BELS).

Kogota Service Center, Sendai Branch
2-2-2 Ekihigashi, Misatomachi, Toda-gun, Miyagi Prefecture

This building has been recognized as Nearly ZEB. It also has a five-star rating, the highest rating, under the Building-Housing Energy-efficiency Labeling System (BELS).

See the website of the Ministry of the Environment for more details on ZEBs.

Renovation of facilities

Many of TEMS' branch buildings and service center offices are new or renovated, with layouts that enable more efficient work and break areas with better facilities. These make work more enjoyable for our employees and enable them to work more efficiently.

Our new Yokohama Branch building completed in March 2019 was the first of our buildings to adopt free-address offices, and we plan to expand this to more sites in future.

Relaxation area

A relaxation area is set up on the roof of our head office to facilitate better communication between employees. Lounges are also provided for employees to eat lunch and take breaks during meetings.
