Electric lighting and power equipment

Rock-solid expertise to keep stations safe and comfortable

A station's electric lighting and power equipment is needed for all the equipment that ensures the safety and comfort of everyone in the building, from the lighting in the station to the timetable boards, the electric signage that indicates track numbers and guides people around the station, the automatic ticket gates and the elevators. It is also used to power the signal and communication equipment that ensures safe, reliable operation of trains.
In addition to inspecting and repairing the equipment used to ensure a reliable power supply, TEMS replaces equipment such as lights. The electric lighting and power equipment in stations covers an enormous range of equipment serving many different purposes. With our rock-solid know-how gained from a wealth of experience, our railway customers know that their equipment is in good hands.

Inspections

Inspections of high-voltage converters

High-voltage converters are used to convert the high-voltage electricity from transformers into a low-voltage supply to power the electrical equipment in stations and signal equipment and level crossings along the tracks. We inspect these regularly to ensure that they are in full working order at all times.

Inspections of distribution boards

Distribution boards are used to divide the electricity transmitted to equipment such as lighting and outlets. There are many of these installed in station buildings and on platforms. We carry out regular inspections to ensure that there is no leakage and the capacity is not exceeded in any load systems.

Repairs

Replacement of lighting

Various forms of lighting are installed in concourses, platforms, offices, level crossings and other areas of stations. These can be LED lighting or fluorescent lighting, straight tube or downlighting. TEMS replaces each type when needed.
